ACE Demonstration Campus principals will hand-select every position on their campuses to guarantee the best fit. Every administrative, teaching, professional and paraprofessional position will be reopened at both Worsham and Goodman.

Staff FAQ

ACE Demonstration School staff will be expected to:

  • Teach for an additional hour daily. (School day will be extended by one hour)
  • Spend an additional three hours a week (Before school, after school, or on a Saturday) to support instructional time. (For teachers, schedule to be arranged with ACE principal)
  • The school will be open until 6 p.m. daily for students to work on homework, attend tutoring, and participate in other enrichment activities.
  • As necessary, provide additional instruction and allow students to retake/redo assignments and assessments until they master the material.
  • Help students build healthy habits of mind in order to strengthen character and improve behavior.
  • Make a commitment to being willing to work relentlessly to drastically improve student academic and social outcomes.
No, however, there will be a contract addendum for all ACE positions, and the terms will be consistent with the current contract status.
Our two ACE Demonstration schools will have an extra hour of learning embedded into the day. The campus will remain open until 6:00 p.m. so that students can participate in planned, after-school enrichment activities. The school’s leader will determine the professional work hours based on the master schedule.

Yes. Employees who are not selected to remain at the ACE Demonstration School are eligible to secure interviews and seek placement at any campus in the district. Employees who do not actively search for a position or who are not offered a position prior to the last day of school will be placed at a campus.
Available positions will be filled by highly effective educators with a demonstrated record of significant year-over-year student growth and success. The district has identified a list of eligible teachers and invited them to apply; however, employees from across the district who are interested in working at Worsham or Goodman may apply once the position is posted.
Every administrative, teaching, professional and paraprofessional position at both Worsham and Goodman will be reopened. Once paraprofessional openings are posted, all district paraprofessional staff will have the opportunity to reapply.

Financial incentives to attract and retain highly effective staff are part of the compensation package for professional staff that are selected to work at an ACE Demonstration Campus. The stipends are paid in two disbursements over the course of the school year. Once a staff member leaves the campus, they are not eligible for the stipend.

No, however, the expectation is for staff to remain part of the program for at least three years. If you decided to leave a campus, you forfeit the supplemental pay.
The initial additional compensation length is annually for three years, assuming all performance requirements are met. After three years, the ACE program will be reevaluated, including compensation levels and supplement amounts.
As long as those stipends are still being offered by the district, you currently receive the stipend or you accept a position that qualifies for the stipend, you will continue to receive that stipend in addition to the ACE stipend. Each employee’s compensation package will be reviewed during the transfer process.
No. However, there may be opportunities for added compensation for staff that provide enrichment or provide tutoring.
Working on Saturdays will be a campus-based decision, as it is now across the district.
